The Project

The EQ West development by CA & Associates represents a key component in realising the vision for the development of Elizabeth Quay as one of Perth’s premier inner-city destinations. Situated at Lots 2 and 3 Elizabeth Quay, and designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the project will deliver an outstanding architectural and public realm outcome that will frame the western edge of the Elizabeth Quay project area.

The approved development comprises of two separate towers, situated above a shared podium and plaza, and will deliver a diverse mix of land uses. This includes high quality residential apartments, short stay accommodation, offices, an art gallery with viewing deck, and ground floor retail and food and beverage tenancies that will activate the surrounding public realm.

Our Role

element was appointed to provide statutory planning advice and manage the development application process through DevelopmentWA, to assist in realising CA & Associates development aspirations for the site.

This included liaison with key stakeholders to negotiate desired project outcomes and assist in implementing key innovative design initiatives.

Outcomes

Working closely with Kerry Hill Architects and a broader consultant team, element successfully negotiated the design review and development application process through DevelopmentWA, securing in-principle development approval in 2016 and a formal development approval for the project in 2017.

element has since continued to work with CA & Associates to further refine the approved development, including assisting with the working drawings and conditions clearance process through DevelopmentWA.
