element are big picture thinkers with the skills, networks and the reputation of bringing complex projects to life and shaping the future of communities. We are a leading multi-disciplinary team of strategists with a 30-year history in delivering technical and creative projects.

Our Manifesto

How many people are fortunate enough to be able to walk around a city or community and say, “I helped bring this to life!”

Property owner, policy maker, developer or stakeholder– if you’re involved in creating places, you have the power to shape lives for the better for generations to come.

It’s a thought that’s equally awesome and overwhelming. If you build it, will they come? And for how long? Is it the right vision, for the right place? Will it be adaptable to future needs? Is it viable, and will it have lasting commercial value? Will the community, or planning framework, even let you build it in the first place? Endless questions, many moving parts; which is why element is here to bring it all together.

We understand the impacts of economics, technological disruption and global trends. How to future proof your project and navigate its completion within the minefield of legislative challenges and community buy in. How to keep everyone on the same page when the going gets tough.

We’re a leading multi-disciplinary team of strategist with a 30-year history of imagining and navigating complex and unprecedented projects to delivery. We have been at the forefront of making plans a reality, delivering some of the country’s most iconic and award-winning places – city centres, waterfronts, main streets, cultural and transit precincts, universities, regional towns, and master planned communities.

We are big picture thinkers with the skills, network and track record to bring complex projects to life. Planning, engagement, heritage, urban design,  economics, place strategy, arts and culture  – it may be the sum of the parts, or just one piece of the puzzle that’s needed. Either way, element seamlessly blends creative and technical know-how to realise vision and deliver legacy.

It’s the art and science of place.

Reconciliation Action Plan

"I am proud to present element’s first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This is the beginning of a long-term commitment and significant step for our company in contributing to reconciliation in Australia." Tony Paduano, Director, element
Planning is first and foremost about the land – and finding the best way to live on it, appreciate and enjoy it. Over the years element has added to our core business of planning by introducing the supportive disciplines of urban design, heritage, public art, place making,  economics, and engagement. These disciplines have enhanced our planning work and introduced a strong emphasis of the importance of people in planning for our future and the legacy that our work creates.

Where else to start when working in the planning industry or when looking at a place, than with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, who have cared for this land for millennia? This realisation is what set element on our RAP journey.

element is committed to reconciliation. It is our responsibility  to ensure that we commit to working within our sphere of influence to drive recognition and acknowledgement of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.

How people intuitively approach and respond to places is at the forefront of our approach.

Our work spans individual buildings, streetscapes, suburban and city centres through to waterfronts, cultural and transit precincts, regional towns and master planned communities.

Creating places that connect with people needs creative and technical thinking in equal measure.

element seamlessly blends creative and technical know-how to realise vision and deliver legacy.
