The Project

Between 2010-2018, element assisted the Department of Finance, Strategic Projects in undertaking its delegated duties with respect to development applications for primary schools located on zoned land under the Metropolitan Region Scheme. We have assessed over 1,000 development applications, both major and minor, and successfully adapted to changes in the planning framework, including the introduction of the Development Assessment Panel system in 2011 and the recent bushfire planning reform. We have also assisted in the development of policies and standard conditions, and the improvement of processes generally in administering the functions of the delegation.

Our Role

In addition, element has been commissioned by a number of private and semi-private schools to assist in achieving their short and long term development aspirations. This has furthered element’s understanding of the operations and requirements of schools, and the issues affecting school development.

We have been commissioned by the following Schools:

  • Christchurch;
  • Perth College;
  • Hale School;
  • Perth Montessori School;
  • Penrhos College;
