Mike is one of element’s leading authorities on structure planning and possesses an in-depth knowledge of statutory processes and land development at a local, state and federal level. Adept at turning his hand to complex strategic land use projects from the coast to urban areas, industrial zones and the regions, Mike delivers frameworks and strategies that tread the line between achieving a robust outcome and enabling flexibility for new innovations.

He is has worked extensively in Coastal Hazard Risk Management and Adaption Planning and across regional Western Australia, including the Kimberley, Pilbara and Mid-West. He is also well versed in urban revitalisation, having worked across the metropolitan area on a range of complex projects such as the Waterbank precinct in East Perth.

A highlight of Mike’s work in the regions came when he was preparing the Cossack CHRMAP, visiting the awe-inspiring Burrup Peninsula and Aboriginal rock art dating more than 40,000 years, demonstrating the strong emotional and cultural connection between land and people.
