Ben brings a unique mix of adept project management and organisational skills, engaging facilitation and creative, out-of-the-box thinking to any project, no matter the size, scale or scope – main streets, urban regeneration projects, shopping centres, tourism precincts, regional towns and new communities.
He works at the nexus of place visioning and activation, stakeholder and community engagement, capacity building and social marketing to deliver visionary yet robust and actionable place strategies.
Ben is element’s leading light in stakeholder and community-led placemaking, living and breathing it at both work and his spare time as Vice Chair for local town team, Inglewood on Beaufort.
His experience in developing and delivering people-focussed initiatives stems from his background at the Department of Planning and Department of Transport where he specialised in urban regeneration projects and travel behaviour change, picking up various accolades for his work and work ethic along the way.
Moving forward, Ben sees that residents and businesses will become even more involved in how their local places are shaped, and it will be essential for government and developers to co-create visions alongside community if they are to be accepted, championed and, in turn, successful.
