Victoria Park Town Centre Structure Plan

TOWN OF VICTORIA PARK | Victoria Park, WA

THE
PLACE

Victoria Park’s town centre had emerged around the Park Shopping Centre and adjacent Council-owned land. The project involved integrating retail, residential, commercial, civic and recreational uses and reinstating main street principles along Albany Highway and Sussex Street. It also involved developing a heart through a new Town Square, connected street network, strip shopping and the potential colocation of Council facilities.

OUR
ROLE

Appointed by the Town of Victoria Park, element’s role was to deliver community and stakeholder engagement and develop a corresponding Town Centre structure plan.

OUTCOMES

The community and stakeholder engagement program had to consider the range of land owners, tenants, businesses and long term asset holders with a key role and influence in the town centre. Working from the outcomes of the community and stakeholder engagement program, we completed a range of illustrative concept sketches and tested these in context of feasibility. We worked with major land and asset owners such as Hawaiian to understand opportunities and constraints around achieving integrated development across this infill precinct.
