GARY DEMPSEY DEVELOPMENTS | North Fremantle, WA
Named after Australian sailing legend Rolly Tasker and sitting on the site where he once had a sail-making factory, Taskers is a premium residential development nestled between the Indian Ocean and the Swan River on the boundary of Mosman Park in North Fremantle. Designed by Craig Steere and developed by Gary Dempsey, it offers premium residences incorporating apartments and townhouses.
Realising the vision for Taskers required complex planning considerations including a structure plan to provide a framework for future development. A key consideration was leveraging the site’s strategic ocean and river views and maximising yield, whilst protecting neighbouring properties’ view corridors and amenity. element managed all statutory approvals including provision of statutory planning advice and development of the structure plan in liaison with City of Fremantle and Department of Planning.
Planning approvals were secured in a timely manner for this site, which posed the potential for significant community contention and opposition. Development commenced in 2013. In 2018, The Villas at Taskers was awarded the best medium-density development by the National Urban Development Institute of Australia.
