Raine Square Revitalisation - Heritage and Planning Services
Raine Square is situated across an entire city block and close to public transport, high profile public spaces and the city’s retail malls. In 2015 the site was not realising its full development and destination potential. With new plans to revitalise the precinct through retail, food, beverage, and the return of cinema to the CBD, came the opportunity to showcase and celebrate its heritage assets.
We were appointed for our planning strategy and heritage expertise to secure project development approvals, advising on due diligence, statutory planning, heritage strategy and heritage architecture. The scope included a focus on adaptive re-use and heritage integration as a vital part of the precinct revitalisation and destination offer.
Our liaison with key stakeholders in State and local government and our heritage expertise secured development and heritage approvals. The heritage architecture services guided implementation of the approved redevelopment for this high-profile public space that is now a well-known city precinct and showcases heritage at its best.
