Queens Riverside Community Capacity Building

FRASERS PROPERTY | East Perth, WA

THE
PLACE

The Queens Riverside precinct is one of Perth’s transformational projects, strengthening the city’s important east west connection. Located on the site of the former Metrobus Depot, bordered by Hay Street and Adelaide Terrace, it is a masterplanned development built by Frasers Property that combines apartments and townhouses, commercial space, a new retail precinct and a luxurious apartment hotel. It has the potential to elevate the Perth experience and perception of apartment life from “living in a building”, to being “part of a place”.

OUR
ROLE

Building on the critical mass of residential development and its emerging community, Frasers Property sought to inject life and activity into the precinct, build social networks amongst purchasers and residents and begin to establish Queens as a local destination. We developed a Place Making Plan which sought to consolidate Queens Riverside as a united neighbourhood precinct. This Plan was developed in the context of supporting apartment sales and general investment attraction, as well as overall precinct performance including marketing, stakeholder relationships and place management, including:

  • Defining the place vision and values through facilitated workshops;
  • Implementing a purchaser and resident engagement program; and
  • Delivering the strategic place making plan including a 12 month implementation plan for programming and activation.

OUTCOMES

With a clear vision established, implementation of the place making plan is now underway and together with Frasers Property, element is working to guide strategic community capacity building for the project with a focus on social network development, resident led activation and stakeholder partnership development.

WHAT WE DELIVERED
  • Workshop design and facilitation
  • Community engagement programs
  • Digital engagement
  • Place activation
