The Project

This project involved the coordination of materials and preparation of a development application to facilitate a change of use from office to a consulting room at no. 3 Alvan Street, Mount Lawley. This project was time sensitive for our clients who needed to change premises and continue operations during a time when mental health services were in high demand over the COVID19 state emergency.

Our Role

element initially obtained the necessary temporary development approval for the land use from the City of Stirling under the State of Emergency provisions (clause 78H of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015) which allowed our client to continue operating from their new premises within 7 days of making the initial request. Whilst operating under a temporary approval, element prepared the necessary documentation and lodged a development application on behalf of our client for a permanent change of use application which was able to be progressed in timely manner due to the robustness of the planning report and responsiveness to the City’s comments and concerns. Our clients are now operating from their new address, providing important services to the community with minimal disruption to their business.

Outcomes

Our expertise and the size of our planning team allows us to appropriately resource all sizes of planning proposals and to strategise effectively to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients. In this circumstance, element was able to procure a temporary development approval in under 7 days from the City of Stirling under the emergency regulations to enable our clients to deliver their services with minimal disruption and then obtain the necessary permanent approval in a timely and cost-effective manner.
