City Gardens

TRANSCONTINENTAL GROUP | Booragoon, WA

THE
PLACE

Located on the corner of Davy and Marmion streets in Booragoon and adjoining AMP Capital’s Garden City shopping centre, City Gardens will offer 2,000sqm of commercial space and almost 520 apartments, many with city and river views. Sitting as part of the Melville City Centre Activity Plan, the precinct is also home to Alcoa’s Western Australian head office.

OUR
ROLE

element managed all facets of the statutory planning and approvals process on behalf of TRG, including:

  • Planning advice to the project team as part of the formulation of the development proposal;
  • Development approvals for the redevelopment of the Alcoa site;
  • Liaison with key stakeholders – City of Melville and the Metro Central JDAP; and
  • Subdivision approval for two stages of development including advising on the creation of relevant Titles.

OUTCOMES

Our work enabled:

  • redevelopment of the underutilised Aloca site, without adversely affecting the existing office building and associated required parking; and
  • future development of multiple developments across a number of stages, along with the required subdivisions to allow for this.

The development of TRG’s City Gardens, coupled with the $750 million expansion of Garden City, will once again make Melville one of the largest activity centres in Australia.
