The Project

The Bishop’s See Garden Building comprises a boutique ten storey city centre work environment set amongst the State heritage listed Bishop’s House and Gardens on Mounts Bay Road.

The timber framed structure is carefully nestled within its garden setting, with an articulated façade that extends the workplace into the garden itself. The project will also reinstate historical features of Bishops Garden, with enhanced landscaping and heritage interpretation opportunities.

Our Role

We were appointed as the nominated planning and heritage consultants to inform the design of the proposed development in consultation with Donaldson Boshard Architects and secure necessary development approvals. This included the preparation of a heritage impact assessment and refinement of heritage related works, to assist in obtaining support for the project from the Heritage Council of WA.

Outcomes

In collaboration with the project team and key local and State government agencies, element secured development approval for the project with the support of the Heritage Council of WA. This included successfully navigating the design review process through both the City of Perth and the Heritage Council WA.
