A temporary (maternity leave cover) opportunity has arisen within our Engagement team for a Consultant to contribute to the delivery of a diverse range of interesting and upcoming projects.

For the right candidate, flexible hours and days, including part-time hours are on offer (minimum 4 days). This is a fixed term 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

The Role

As a consultancy firm, managing our clients’ needs to deliver high levels of satisfaction and repeat business, and referrals to new opportunities, are an important part of this role.

This engagement role is responsible for the development and delivery of a wide range of place focussed stakeholder and community engagement strategies.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Design and delivery of high-quality engagement and communications strategies.
  • Research, design and implementation of online and face-to-face engagement methods.
  • Supporting engagement activities such as presentations and workshop facilitation.
  • Analysing qualitative and quantitative data, preparing reports, editing, reviewing and ensuring quality control.
  • Understanding client needs, building and managing relationships.
  • Working flexibly based on engagement and communications activities/needs.

Skills & Qualifications

You will have a broad understanding and some practical experience in engagement, including online applications and traditional methods.

As our ideal candidate, you will:

  • Enjoy work with people, yearn for a good spreadsheet and data analysis.
  • Desire to be part of a collaborative, cross functional team.
  • Have a high level of interest and proficiency in connecting and working with stakeholders and communities – on small to large scale engagements.
  • Previous experience with face-to-face community engagement.
  • Experience with survey development, with digital engagement experience desirable.
  • Be a strong, confident communicator both verbally and in writing.

It is expected as our successful candidate, you will have qualifications in either communication or engagement and have worked within the urban planning or property sector.  Private practice is desirable but not essential, similarly IAP2 certification is desirable but not essential.
