The Project

The Fremantle Ports Authority were seeking to improve their development application process. Hamstrung by outdated internal systems and practices this was an opportunity to engage with existing and newly onboarded internal stakeholders to conduct an independent review. The process needed to be transparent and collaborative across all key teams within the Authority.

Our Role

element was appointed to develop and engagement process that was open and transparent and principally seen as independent from the internal planning team. This included review of current practice, stakeholder interviews, designing and facilitating a stakeholder workshop and reporting on recommendations for improvements. Finally to prepare a report that made recommendations for improvement.

Outcomes

element assisted our client with identifying process shortfalls, where the process could benefit from systems improvement, more effective team-based collaborations, and thus improved customers satisfaction.  Core areas identified were process and systems, communications, resourcing, planning conditions and process management. The final report and recommendations were well received.
